"This album is full" and other messages guests might see

Partyreel's messages are written to be understood on the spot, but it helps to know what's behind each one and who can fix it.

Your uploads, where photos wait

On an event whose host lets each upload in, or whose album develops at a set time, the round button beside Add photos counts what's waiting and opens Your uploads, where each photo you sent says where it stands. Only you see that list.

The password gate

• That password didn't work. Give it another try. Check the invitation; passwords are case-sensitive.
• After five wrong tries in a row, a short pause with a countdown. Wait it out; nothing is locked for good.
• A correct password keeps the album open on that device for about 12 hours. After that it asks again.
• This event is locked. Enter the event password to upload. You reached an upload without unlocking first, usually from an old tab. Reload and enter the password.

Don't have the password? It's the host's; ask them. Partyreel can't share it.

The door's own steps

The welcome, Ask to join and the wait are the door's own page, standing open, ajar or shut as the event allows. Every step below rises over it as a sheet.

Every event asks what to call you before the album: What should we call you?, and a typed name carries a small unverified mark until it's confirmed. On an event that doesn't require a confirmed email, an optional Email (optional) field sits under the name, with Come back to this album anytime, with every photo you add. underneath it. Nothing is sent to it there and it's never shown to the host; adding one just means the photos you add can be claimed later, from any device, once you confirm that same address on an account.

See all the photos with an email field means the host instead requires a confirmed email before the album opens, with The host has asked guests to confirm an email for safety. One tap and you're in. It comes first, on its own: your name is asked after the code, and only if your account doesn't have one yet (the name your account already has is the one on your photos). See why an event asks for your email. If the code doesn't come, the email code didn't arrive.

Add your photos is the last step. On most events there's a Skip for now under it; where the host asked everyone to add a photo before the album opens, there isn't one, and the photo is the way in.

Continue without adding appears there when nothing you send can go through for a reason you can't fix, like a full album or uploads the host has closed. Tapping it opens the album: the door never holds a guest at a step they couldn't pass.

Keep this event is the screen the door reopens on once your first photo lands, if you haven't confirmed an email yet. Confirm your email keeps the event in your account with the photos you added; Maybe later puts the offer away on that device, and your name menu keeps it one tap away.

Waiting, closed, gone, or wrong

• Waiting at the door: the host lets each guest in, and you've asked. The door stands ajar, with nothing of the album behind it, and says the host will let you in, naming them. The album opens right there, by itself, the moment they do; keep the link, and it opens the album whenever you come back. Use a different email signs you out, to try another address.
• Nothing is sent until you're let in. Under the wait, Choose what you'll add lets you pick your photos now. They go in the moment you're let in. Your choice waits on your phone, so a reload or a closed tab keeps it, and the album sends it when you come back.
• Ask to join: the host lets each guest in, and you're signed in already. The door is shut, with the host's name over it, until you ask. One tap asks, the door swings ajar, and you wait at the door as above.
• This album is closed: only the host can let you in. The door is shut, and its message names nothing, neither the album nor its host. The album may be the host's alone for now, closed to new guests, or kept to an invite list that doesn't include your email; the link works again the moment the host lets you in. Where it's an invite list, the same screen offers Ask the host to let me in (it names the host you'd ask), and Use a different email in case you confirmed another address than the one you were invited with.
• This album is private: you were in, and the host made the album private. The same shut door, in other words; the link works again the moment they let you in.
• This event link didn't work: the link is mistyped, the event was deleted, or a custom link was changed. Ask the host for a fresh one. See the QR won't scan, or the link won't open.
• Too many joins from this network right now. Please try again in a bit.: a rare limit on unusual traffic from one network. It clears on its own.
