An upload won't finish

Uploads go one file at a time, and each one either lands with a green check or turns dim with Tap to retry. The message on the toast tells you which of these it is.

It's stuck or dimmed, no reason given

• Your connection dropped. Check your signal and try again. Venue wifi and crowded rooms do this. Tap the tile to retry; one retry usually finishes it. If wifi is hopeless, switch to mobile data.
• Something went wrong with that upload. Please try again. A transient hiccup; retry.
• A very large video uploads in pieces and needs to finish within a couple of hours of starting. Keep the browser open and in front until the check appears; a phone that locks for an hour mid-upload may need to start that file again.

Retrying one file never affects the others, and nothing you picked is lost: it's all still on your phone.

It was refused

• That file type isn't supported. Photos need to be JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, HEIF, or AVIF; videos MP4, MOV, or WebM. See what you can upload.
• This file is larger than the 10 GB maximum. The universal ceiling. Trim the video.
• This file is larger than this event allows. The host set a smaller per-file cap; the message names it. A shorter clip or a smaller export.
• This event accepts photos only. No video on this event.
• This event isn't accepting uploads right now. The host closed uploads. You can still browse.
• This album is full right now. The host needs to free up space. Nothing you can fix from your side; tell the host.
• Your upload session has expired. Refresh and rejoin. Reload the page and try again; if the event asks for an email or a password, you'll pass that gate once more.
• Too many joins from this network right now. Please try again in a bit. Rare, and it clears on its own in a few minutes.

For hosts

Your own uploads follow the same rules, with two differences: a per-file cap you set doesn't apply to you, and a full plan reads Storage is full for your plan. Free up space or upgrade. See what happens when storage fills up. For a photographer's batch, a laptop on wifi is far more reliable than a phone.
