A QR code is the right tool for a room. For everyone else (the group chat, the family who left early, the people who couldn't come), the link itself is easier.

Copy and send it
Open Share and tap the copy button beside the link. Paste it anywhere: a text, a group chat, an email, the wedding website, the back of the program. It opens the same event page a scan does, and it works before, during, and long after the event.
Guests can pass it on too. The Invite button on the event page gives them the code and the link, and the Share action in the photo viewer sends the event link, never a single photo.
How it looks when you send it
Messaging apps and email clients show a preview card: the event name with a line inviting people to add their photos. A password-protected event shows its name but nothing else; a private event shows a generic card. Nothing in the preview reveals any photo.
Who can open it
Anyone with the link, subject to your event's visibility: public opens directly, password-protected asks for the password, private shows a friendly locked screen. Search engines are asked not to index event pages, and the address is a long random string, so nobody can find your album by searching or guessing. See who can see your event.
A friendlier address
The permanent link is long. On a paid plan you can add a custom link like partyreel.com/e/maya-and-sam that opens the same event and is much easier to say out loud or type under a QR code on a screen. See set a custom event link.
The link is the album, later
After the event, the link you sent is the album people come back to. You don't need to send a second "here are the photos" link; see share the album after the event.
