Every Partyreel album starts unlisted: nobody can find it without the link. From there, you decide how open it is to the people you give the link to.
The link is the door
An event's address is a long random string. It isn't listed on Partyreel, it isn't linked from your profile unless you choose to publish it, and every event page asks search engines not to index it. So "anyone with the link" means your guests and whoever they pass it to, not the internet.

- Public: anyone with the link can view the album. The default.
- Password: anyone with the link and the password you set. Guests see the event's name and how many photos are inside, nothing else, until they enter it. A Pro & Event Pass feature; see password-protect your event.
- Private: only you. Guests see a friendly locked screen, and the link's preview card shows nothing. Useful while you curate.
Whether guests confirm an email
Separately, Require accounts to upload (on by default, free on every plan) means a guest sees a preview of the newest 9 photos and confirms an email before seeing the rest or adding to it. Turn it off and anyone with the link can view and add anonymously. See require accounts to upload, explained.
The settings page shows one sentence describing exactly what a guest will experience with your current combination, and the event page's visibility chip shows the same sentence on hover.
What's visible inside
Whoever can open the album sees approved photos with the uploader's display name (or Anonymous), never an email. Hidden and unapproved photos aren't sent to guests at all. Like counts are yours alone. The guest list, if you turn on Show the guest list on the album, names every signed-in contributor to anyone who can open the album; it's off until you say so. Location data
Photos carry hidden location and device details. Partyreel strips them in the browser before an upload leaves the phone, for the common formats, so the originals people download don't say where they were taken. See photo metadata and location data.
Leaked link?
If a link gets somewhere it shouldn't, switch the event to Private or add a password. Either one locks the existing link instantly; there's no way to make a new one, and no need. The rest of the host's playbook is in reporting content and keeping your event safe.
