Event settings, explained

Everything about how an event behaves opens right over the album, as five numbered steps in the order a guest meets them, each ticked once it's ready for guests. The first four are one sentence each, saying where that part of your event stands right now, so the whole of it reads at a glance, even on a phone; the fifth is the code.

Tap a word, or open a row

The underlined words in a sentence are the settings themselves. In "Anyone with the link, after confirming an email", tap Anyone with the link to change who gets in, or the email words to change what guests do first; the choice opens right there and saves the moment you pick. Tap anywhere else on a row to open its page, with every setting of that group; the back arrow above it returns to the steps, and the button at its foot walks on to the next one, the last ending on Next: The code, which opens your event's code.

There's no Save button: Changes save as you make them. A typed field, such as the event's name, saves when you leave it.

Who can get in

The door, in the order a guest meets it: what the link opens (Public, Private or Only me), the gate a Private album keeps, An email first and A photo first. The whole model is in who can see your event; the two last steps have their own articles, an email first and a photo first.

What guests can add

• Album style, one tap (and the second question Create asks, Pick your album's style): Live, where every photo shows the moment it's added; Review, where you let each one in first (new uploads wait in Review, see review uploads before they appear); or Disposable, the album's camera with a roll of shots for each guest, where everyone's photos develop at once at a time you set.
• Develop time, on an album that develops: when everything added appears at once. Move it whenever you like; while it waits, Develop now shows it all straight away. Approving each never stands with a develop time: before it develops, look under the cover on your event page to take anything out.
• Accepting uploads turns guest uploads on or off. Off freezes the album; guests can still view it.
• Videos lets guests add videos as well as photos. On a paid plan it's a switch, so you can keep an album to photos; on the free plan it shows locked with the Pro mark, and tapping it shows the plans that include video.
• Max size per upload sits under Videos and caps how large any single guest file can be, once videos are on. Your own uploads aren't affected.
• Customize how guests add and when everyone sees sets the two answers apart, for a mix the styles don't name (the album's camera showing each shot right away, say): How guests add (Free uploads or The album's camera, where removing a shot frees its frame) and When everyone sees what's added (Right away, Once you approve each or At a develop time).

Details: turn off uploads, or cap the size of guest uploads and review uploads before they appear.

Highlight reel

Show the reel turns the album's reel on or off everywhere: on the album, in the reel's own view, and on any screen. Under it, Look is the style every guest starts on, each shown on one of your own photos, and Hold is how many seconds each photo stays up. With the reel off, those two rest folded into one quiet line, and open again when you turn it on. Anyone can pick their own look and pace on their device; these are where everyone starts. This event

The event's name, A note for guests (it sits under the name on the page they open), the date and, once it is set, Add an end date for a weekend or a trip (both for your reference only: they say when it happens and never end anything), and Show on my profile, which lists the event on your public profile page. See your public profile. There's no switch for the guest list: every album has one, naming every guest who added photos, a confirmed name or a marked one, to everyone who can open it. Deleting the event

Delete event is a quiet row at the foot. It removes the event and everything in it right away and frees its slot on your plan. It goes to Deleted, where you can restore it for 30 days. There's no "end event" or "archive" option: an event is either live or deleted.
