Hide, remove, and restore

Two ways to get a photo off the album, with one difference between them: hide keeps it where it is, remove starts the clock.

Hide

Hide on a tile (or in the photo viewer on a phone) takes the photo off the album for guests instantly, with the toast Hidden from everyone. For you it stays in the gallery at 30 percent opacity with a persistent Show chip, so it's easy to find and one tap to put back. Hidden photos still count toward your storage and still appear in your downloads if you ask for them. A hidden photo also drops out of the highlight reel at once, and rejoins it the moment you Show it again.

Hide is for the blurry duplicate, the one shot someone would rather not see, and anything you're not sure about yet. An upload you Reject in Review lands here the same way, hidden and dimmed, and Show puts it in the album after all. At an event that reviews uploads, the guest who sent a photo you hid or rejected sees it marked Not approved in their own uploads; nobody else does.

Remove

Remove in the photo viewer, or Delete in Select mode, asks you to confirm: the photo disappears from the album right away and moves to Deleted, permanently gone after 30 days unless you restore it first. It still counts in your storage while it waits, and stops counting when it leaves Deleted.

Removed photos wait under the Deleted filter in the album's View menu for 30 days, each with a countdown. Restore puts one back exactly as it was: a photo that was hidden comes back hidden, one that was waiting for review comes back waiting. Delete permanently skips the wait, after a confirmation that it can't be undone. Nothing in Deleted can be downloaded, so grab a copy before you remove something you might want.

Restoring always fits: a photo in Deleted was counted in your storage all along, so bringing it back adds nothing.

Deleted events work the same way: choose Deleted under Show in the Display menu over your dashboard's events, and a restore brings the whole album back in one go. See your dashboard, explained; deleting an event is in event settings, explained.

What won't come back

• Anything removed by Partyreel after a report. It leaves your album at once, it never appears in Deleted, and it isn't counted in the Deleted figure on your storage meter. There's nothing to restore.
• A guest's own deletion. When a guest deletes their own upload, right on the album or from their profile, it's gone for you too: it leaves your album at once, it never appears in Deleted, and it isn't counted in the Deleted figure on your storage meter. There's nothing to restore. Their choice wins, and their confirmation told them so.

Deleted counts in your storage

What waits in Deleted counts in your storage beside your albums, and the storage meter on your dashboard draws the two apart. With Make room from Deleted on (it is unless you turn it off), a new upload that needs room takes it from the oldest of Deleted, which then leaves for good; with it off, uploads wait until you make room. Empty Deleted clears everything in it at once.
