Review is the switch between "the album fills live" and "nothing appears until I've seen it". Both are right for different events, and you can flip it at any point.
Turn it on
- Dashboard
- Your event
- Settings
- Guest uploads
Flip Review uploads before they appear and tap Save changes. Or, on the event page, the Review section's own Turn on review does it in one tap.
From then on, a guest's upload goes into Review instead of the gallery. The guest sees a note that the host reviews uploads first, and a toast, Sent, waiting for host approval. Your own uploads never wait; the host is the reviewer.
Approving
- Dashboard
- Your event
- Review
While anything is waiting, the Review section jumps to the top of your event page with an amber count, and the bell on your dashboard says how many. Two ways through it:
- Approve all: the fast path. Most review is a quick scroll, then this.
- Select: tap the ones you mean, then Approve or Hide the selection. All and Clear speed it up.
Approved photos appear for guests within seconds. When the queue empties you get a small "all caught up" note and the section drops to the bottom of the page until something new arrives. Anything you hide from Review stays in the album for you, dimmed, and never shows to guests; see hide, remove, and restore.
Turning it off
Flip the switch off and save. If uploads are waiting, Partyreel asks first: Stop reviewing uploads? explains that turning it off approves everything in the queue and shows it to everyone right away. Keep reviewing backs out; Approve all and stop (or Approve it and stop for a single upload) goes ahead. Turning review off always releases the queue; there's no way to switch it off and keep photos waiting.
It's never retroactive
Turning review on doesn't pull already-approved photos back into the queue; they stay live. Turning it off doesn't hide anything. The switch only decides what happens to the next upload.
When to use it
- On: weddings, anything on a screen in the room, corporate events, albums a client or a family elder will see, and any event where you'd rather look first.
- Off: parties, trips, reunions, and anywhere the live fill is the fun. You can still hide or remove afterward.
A photo that's missing
If a guest says their photo isn't showing, Review is the first place to look. The other causes are in a photo is missing from the album.
