Partyreel asks for one thing when you create an account: the name people will see. It's the byline under an event you host ("Hosted by"), and the caption on every photo you add to someone else's event. Your email never shows anywhere public.
Where your name shows
- On your events, as the host byline at the top of the event page, next to your photo if you've added one.
- On your uploads, in the caption when a guest opens one of your photos in the album, and on the event's guest list.
- On your profile page, if you claim a handle: your name and photo always show there, but which of the events you added photos to show beside them is up to you, off until you turn one on. See your public profile.
Photos you add without signing in carry the display name you typed instead, with a small unverified mark until it's confirmed. This only comes up at albums that don't ask for an email first; the rest ask you to confirm one before your first upload.

The first time you sign in, Partyreel asks for your name before you can create an event or add photos (the Add your name step). After that, the Display name field on your account page changes it: type the new name and tap Save. The change applies everywhere at once, including on photos you added earlier.
A few rules: it has to be at least one character and at most 60, and a handful of reserved words (names that would look like Partyreel staff) aren't available. Real names are always fine.
If you signed in with Google
Partyreel suggests the name from your Google account, but it never publishes it without you confirming it first. Edit it before you save if you'd rather go by something else.
Add a photo
In the same Profile card, tap Upload photo (or Change photo once you have one), pick an image, and adjust the crop. JPG, PNG, or WebP. Tap Remove to go back to your account's own colour: every account gets one, a shade picked for it alone with your initial over it, never a plain grey circle.
The photo appears in the host byline of your events and next to your name on guest lists and profiles, painted over that same colour until it loads. It's a square crop, so pick something that works small.
Your email stays private
Guests never see your email address. When you add photos to someone else's event while signed in, only that event's host can see the email behind your upload, in their own dashboard, so they know who sent what. Nobody else can. The details are in what guests can and can't see.
To move your account to a new address, tap Change beside your email on your account page. We send a code to your current address and one to the new one, and your email changes once both are entered, in either order. Hosts of events you've added photos to see the new address. An email can be changed but not removed; deleting your account is how it comes off Partyreel.
