Play the reel on a screen

Updated September 25, 2026 · 2 min read

In short

On the laptop that drives the TV or projector, open your event's reel and press Play on a screen. It fills the screen with the event's code in the corner, and new photos join it as they land.

Put the reel on a screen in the room and the room starts feeding it. Every photo someone adds joins the reel within seconds, and the code in the corner turns watching into adding.

Set it up

  1. 01

Sign in as the host on the screen's computer

A laptop plugged into the TV or projector works best. Sign in there as yourself: on your own event you pass every gate (the welcome screen, a password, a first photo), so the screen goes straight to the reel. A signed-out browser meets the same welcome screen a guest does, and waits there.

  2. 02

    Open the reel

From your event page, tap the Highlight reel card, or open your event link and tap the reel's tile.

  3. 03

    Press Play on a screen

In the reel's controls, Play on a screen opens the reel in its screen mode, in a new tab. It shows on a laptop-sized window, never on a phone.

  4. 04

    Press anywhere

The reel is already playing, under a pill reading Press anywhere to fill the screen. One press anywhere on it, the pill included, takes the whole screen and keeps it awake. Leaving full screen never stops the reel; the pill simply comes back.

What the room sees

The reel, edge to edge in its look, with a white card in the corner carrying the event's QR code, Scan to add yours and the event's address. New uploads name their person in a small chip as they arrive. Nothing about Review ever appears: the room sees only what you've approved, and a screen never shows the waiting queue.

If the album ever drops below two photos, the screen shows the code and the address on their own until the reel comes back.

Keep it presentable

Turn on review if you'd rather see photos before the room does: an approved photo joins the reel the moment you approve it from your phone. See review uploads before they appear. Hiding a photo takes it off the screen just as fast.

The screen plays the look and the pace you set for everyone, and anything you change while it plays stays on that browser alone. See the highlight reel.

Or show the album itself

The album page updates live too, newest first, so a screen can simply show the grid if you'd rather have that. Keep the QR code beside it: see print your QR, or put it on a screen.

A long evening on one tab

The screen keeps itself fresh, but a browser left alone for many hours can pause background work. If it ever seems stuck, a reload brings it straight back with everything that arrived meanwhile.
