Try the live demo

Updated October 5, 2026 · 3 min read

In short

The live demo is a real album you open as a guest: browse it, watch its reel and add a photo, with no sign-up. Nothing you add is saved. Open partyreel.com/demo, or scan its code with your phone.

The demo is one real album, set up for you to try, that you open exactly as a host's guests would. Look around, watch its reel, add a photo of your own to see how it feels. It asks for no sign-up, no name and no email, and nothing you add is kept.

Open it

On a phone, any demo link on the site opens it straight away. At a computer, a small card first offers the demo's code to scan with your phone, or a button to open it right there in a new tab. The short address works too: partyreel.com/demo. The home page and how it works both carry a demo link.

What you'll see

You arrive at a welcome marked A live demo: You're a guest at the party's name, in an album that is real, exactly as its host's guests see it. Continue walks you in, and the last step asks for a photo, with Look around to skip it. From then on a small Demo mark stays beside the Partyreel logo, so you always know where you are. Every visit starts from the welcome, even if you have been before.

What's real, and what isn't

  • Real: the album with its photos and videos, the photo viewer, and the highlight reel, one tap from the cover's round play button. It is the same page every guest gets, on your phone or your computer.
  • Pretend: adding a photo. Yours appears in the album and joins the reel as if it had landed, and no other visitor sees it (Nothing you add is saved.).
  • Left out: the host's side (Review, Settings, the code's designer), and what needs a real file, which is taking photos home with Select and making a clip.
  • Skipped: the email step. A new event asks its guests to confirm an email by default; the demo does not, so your guests will meet one more step than you do. See why an event asks for your email.

A phone and a laptop, together

Open the demo on a computer, press Invite, the round QR button on the cover, and scan that code with your phone: the phone joins as a second guest. A photo you add there lands in the computer's album a moment later, and both say so: the computer reads That one just came from your phone. and the phone It's on your laptop already. It is the nearest thing to a party without hosting one: the phone is a guest, and the computer is the screen in the room. Nothing is stored, and the link ends when either page closes.

Ready for your own

Start your own takes you to Partyreel's home, and once you've added a photo a card says That is what your guests would see. Creating an event takes about a minute (see create your first event), and the free plan is built for a first one (see what the free plan includes). The host's side is in your event page, explained.
